Life Story for Virginia Ann Hewitt (Satterfield)
Mrs. Virginia Ann (Satterfield) Hewitt, age 82, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, formerly of Switzerland County, Indiana, entered this life on May 2, 1936, in Switzerland County, Indiana, the loving daughter of the late, Roger Douglas Satterfield, Sr. and Eunice J. (Bennett) Satterfield. She was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana and was a 1954 graduate of the Vevay High School. Virginia was united in marriage on May 2, 1960 to George "Ruby" Hewitt. Virginia and Ruby shared nearly 29 years of marriage together until he passed away on August 17, 1989. Virginia was employed as a carrier for the Cincinnati Post serving the Aurora, Lawrenceburg and Rising Sun communities for 13 years. She was employed as a cashier for the Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Airport until 2003. Virginia resided in Lawrenceburg, Indiana since 1990 and was a member of the Lawrenceburg Wesleyan Church. Virginia enjoyed working puzzles, cooking, baking and playing Bingo. Virginia passed away at 10:58 a.m., Friday, April 19, 2019, at the Highpoint Health in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
Virginia will be missed by her children, Amy Lester and her husband, Aaron of Lawrenceburg, IN, Darrell Hewitt of Lawrenceburg, IN and Julie Hewitt of TX; her step-children, Debbie Collins and her husband, John of Indianapolis, IN and George Hewitt and his wife, Shirley of Indianapolis, IN; her grandchildren, Jake Lester, Sara Lester, Jason Lester and Ariana Larson; her great-grandchildren, Gavin and Cosima; her step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; her half-brother, Roger Douglas Satterfield, Jr. of Vevay, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger Douglas Satterfield, Sr. and Eunice J. (Bennett) Satterfield; her husband, George "Ruby" Hewitt, died August 17, 1989 and her step-mother, Rosie (Beatty) Satterfield.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at 6:00 p.m., by Pastor James Kessen at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow at a later date in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana
