Life Story for Lucille Konkle (Knox)

Lucille  Konkle (Knox)
Mrs. Lucille (Knox) Konkle, age 99, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on May 17, 1919, in Carroll County, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of the late, Benjamin Franklin and Della Nancy (Garrett) Knox. Lucille was united in marriage on January 1, 1936, at the Baptist Parsonage in Madison, Indiana, to Lewis Edward Konkle. This happy union was blessed with two sons, Bill and Eddie. Lucille and Lewis shared 77 years of marriage together until he passed away on February 7, 2013. Lucille was employed for the Madison State Hospital in Madison, Indiana, from 1969 to 1984. She helped Lewis on the family farm milking cows until 1969. Lucille resided in the Lamb community, from 1972 to 2012 when she moved to Vevay. She was a former member of the Union Baptist Church and Spring Branch Baptist Church and was a member of the Switzerland Baptist Church. Lucille enjoyed quilting, sewing and working jig saw puzzles. Lucille went to be with her Lord and Savior at 5:05 p.m., Monday, August 27, 2018, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Lucille will be deeply missed by her son, William Lee "Bill" Konkle of Vevay, IN; her daughter-in-law, Sandra "Jo" (Stevens) Konkle of Vevay, IN; her grandchildren, Diana Lynn Pruett of Corydon, IN, Kathy Lee Brown of Lebanon, KY, Steven Edward Konkle of Vevay, IN and Alan Ray Konkle; her great-grandchildren, Josh, Kevin, Amy, Alisha, Kayla, Kyle, Tyler and Kelsi; her great-great-grandchildren, Leyton, Parker and MaryLynn and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin and Della Nancy (Garrett) Knox; her husband, Lewis Edward Konkle; her son, Roy Edward "Eddie" Konkle; her grandson, Danny Lee Konkle; her brother, Roy Franklin Knox; her sister, Anna Jean Harsin Baker; her daughter-in-law, Mary Lou (Dickason) Konkle and her grandson-in-law, Bob Pruett.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 31, 2018, at 11:00 am, by Rev. Mike Barnes at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
