Life Story for Floyd J. "Jesse" Leatherbury
Mr. Floyd J. "Jesse" Leatherbury, age 81, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on January 6, 1937, in Vevay, Indiana, the son of the late, Harvey A. and Gertrude (Courtney) Buchanan-Leatherbury. He attended school in Vevay, Indiana and resided in the Groveland, Florida community for several years. Jesse was employed for Bluegrass Shows in Jackson, Mississippi from 1972-1982 and for High Acres in Groveland, Florida for several years. Jesse died at 4:40 pm, Monday, April 16, 2018, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
Jesse is survived by his several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey A. Leatherbury, died October 5, 1966 and Gertrude (Courtney) Buchanan-Leatherbury, died December 2, 1951; his half-brother, Elvan E. Buchanan, died January 28, 1972; his half-sisters, Effie Wall, Flora Dolan and Louise Mahoney May.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday, April 20, 2018, at 1:00 pm, by Bro. Jeremiah Haynes at the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
